With flu season quickly approaching (November-March) HISD employees were recently given the opportunity to receive a flu vaccination shot. In the picture to the left our Principal Ms. Garrido braves the needle pinch in Barrick’s nurses office. The vaccination helps protect Barrick’s faculty and staff against missing instructional days due to coming down with influenza. We hope that our students parents will also consider this preventive health measure as well. The CDC says that “getting vaccinated as soon as vaccine is available may be most important for children being vaccinated against flu for the first time, who need to get two doses of flu vaccine at least 4 weeks apart.”
